MY STORY

After graduating with distinction from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan under the guidance of Giovanna Polacco, Francesca Giordanino made her solo debut at just 20 years old with the I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra, performing Prokofiev’s Concerto No. 2 in G minor.

She then refined her skills with the renowned violinist Dora Schwarzberg at the “R. Romanini” Foundation in Brescia, completing a three-year advanced diploma program. Schwarzberg praised her as “a violin talent of great depth and an important figure in the Italian musical scene.”

Francesca continued her studies with M° M. Frischenschlager at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, supported by a scholarship from the prestigious DE SONO Association of Turin. She also graduated from the Scuola Superiore di Musica da Camera in Duino with the Trio di Trieste and received a diploma of merit from the Chigiana Academy in Siena.

She seamlessly alternates between solo and chamber music, having performed in prominent venues and festivals across Italy and abroad, including:

  • MILAN (Amici del Loggione at Teatro alla Scala, Società dei Concerti)

  • ROME (Argentine Embassy, Auditorium Parco della Musica, Teatro Argentina)

  • SANTANDER and LJUBLJANA (Emilia Romagna Festival)

  • SALZBURG (Wiener Saal)

  • TOKYO (Suntory Hall, Bunka Kaikan)
    and many others.

She has served as concertmaster of the Rome Symphony Orchestra, the Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese, and Roma Sinfonietta, collaborating extensively with Ennio Morricone on several projects and international tours.

She has also worked as co-concertmaster with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Rome Opera House, based on her established reputation.

Since 2014, she has regularly collaborated with the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa as co-concertmaster and principal second violin, and has held the same positions with the Arturo Toscanini Orchestra in Parma.

In 2017, she co-founded the Duo Max Planck with cellist Marco De Masi, which later evolved into the EVOLUTION CLASSICAL DUO. Together, they carry out an intense concert activity marked by original arrangements, a repertoire that ranges from classical music to soundtracks, and a strong communicative impact.

Since autumn 2024, Francesca Giordanino has been Artist in Residence at the Teatro Sociale di Camogli, alongside Marco De Masi.

On April 26, 2021, she was awarded the "Universum del Patrimonio Femminile" prize at the Puccini Hall of the Milan Conservatory, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to violin artistry.

She plays a Mathias Hosteinerdux violin (1771) and a violin crafted in Cremona in 2023 by luthier Takaomi Shibata.

WORDS ABOUT ME

“All these qualities - combined with advanced technique, a beautiful sound, and inner charm - define a truly significant Italian musician.”

Prof. D. SCHWARZBERG

Professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna

________

“In every concert where I had the opportunity to hear the young violinist from Turin, she consistently demonstrated deep musicality, exceptional violin skills, and the convincing personality of a true artist.”

M° M. FRISCHENSCHLAGER

Rektor Emeritus of the “Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst” of Wien

________

“I have known Francesca Giordanino for many years, since her collaboration with our orchestra at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, where she served as co-concertmaster of the first violins. On every occasion, she proved to be highly prepared — both technically and in her understanding of the delicate dynamics of orchestral work.”

M° C. M. PARAZZOLI

Concertmaster of the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Rome

Francesca Giordanino challenged the disturbing and demonic nature of the composition, famous indeed, but rarely performed, feared by more experienced concert musicians. Relying on a sound that was often authoritative yet occasionally singable, the young violinist captivated the audience, so much so that at various points during the performance we thought: well done, there's a well-crafted phrase, there's a passage of exemplary execution. At the end, Francesca was celebrated with a bang: no encore, since any "Kreutzer"-esque comment would be out of place.

BRESCIA NEWSPAPER

________

"Francesca Giordanino played throughout the evening a precious violin from the Maggini Foundation, attributed to Giuseppe Guarneri, known as "del Gesù," and created emotions and impressions worthy of a skill far beyond her twenty-six years. A native of Turin, with long blond hair and an athletic physique, she enchanted the audience with classical themes from the repertoire of Astor Piazzolla."
